As Games Manager (an official title I gave myself) for an upcoming bridal shower, the brides’ mother asked if I could do a little something for the two young flowers girls in attendance. Refusing as always to keep it simple, I decided to make the ultimate flower girl busy bags! #overachieverstatus
These would be great not only for a 4 hour shower in which small children have little to no interest, but also for a wedding (if your allowing kiddos to stay the duration.) You could also choose more boy-friendly items (or gender neutral items if you're a feminist), or more educational items if you're not into Disney. I was also thinking it would be nice to add an Honest Kids juice, a granola bar, or Go Go Squeeze applesauce. I think if you know the kids' dietary needs well or their parents' food preferences, go for it, but in this case I didn't want to risk it! Overall I'm very happy with how they turned out!
Here's a look at the finished product!
I got everything at Target, mostly in the dollar spot so these only set me back about $10 a basket. Check out these awesome, affordable goodies!
Frozen Busy Pack ($1.00)
Has a coloring book, stickers, and hello, it’s Frozen. No small child of the present day can resist. I also considered Minions and Inside Out but I couldn’t’ find two of them and I didn’t want to start a heated argument over who gets which animated franchise.
Frozen Bracelet ($1.00)
Could be a hit or miss but for a buck, why not?
My Little Pony Surprise Toy ($2.89)
Nothing beats a surprise toy. I know there are billions of YouTube videos dedicated to unboxing these kids of things. I wanted to get Disney Tsum Tums but those were a bit more expensive and for 6+. At less that $3 and the exact age I needed, these were perf for three year olds.
Light up Wands ($5.00 for 5 pack)
These came in a pack of 5 in the Spritz party section. They light up all crazy when you hit them like the many obnoxious light up toys sold at Disney right before the fireworks go on. I was excited to have extra to share with my daughter and use as an add-on to future gifts for other little ladies in my life. Plus they look so cute sticking out of the basket and give it dimension.
Floral Straw Cup ($3.00)
This was so cute I had to get my daughter one. She is always trying to grab my big girl one so this is perfect for tiny hands. Not spill proof but my audience here is three-year-olds so I’m hoping for a better track record than my one year old.
Easter Box/Basket (Boxet?) ($1.00)
I considered finding some cute wedding themed gable boxes but I couldn't find anything the right size or theme for these goodies. I did find these ones from Oriental Trading but I didn't need a dozen or want to pay shipping for just one thing. These were in the Target dollar spot since Easter will soon be upon us. The colors are not my favorite, but they will probably don’t care. The contents are what’s really exciting!
I also considered wedding-themed busy packs from Oriental Trading. Hunting all these goodies down at Target was way more fun though! What else would you recommend for Flower Girl or Ring Bearer busy bags?
